Gobindobhog Rice

Gobindo bhog rice is the staple rice in Bengal. Bhog rice is aromatic and has a sweet buttery taste and flavour after cooking. Also called Vishnubhog rice, its aroma comes especially during the cooking process! It is highly nutritious with an irresistible taste and flavour and can be used in preparing almost all the Bengali cuisines. Plus, it goes well when mixed with both veg and non veg dishes. Gobindobhog rice has a sweet buttery flavour and it is known to digest faster than white rice. Bhog rice is used during festive season especially during Durga Puja in East. It’s also called Ambemohar or Jeera rice in other parts of India.
